Nitrile rubber is a type of synthetic rubber that is configured from a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile.
Depending on the amount of acrylonitrile that is included, differences are created in the properties of the rubber.
If the amount of included acrylonitrile is increased, the oil resistance will increase, but in contrast the low temperature flexibility will be adversely affected.
If the amount of included acrylonitrile is decreased, the low temperature flexibility will increase, but in contrast the oil resistance will be adversely affected.
This material is a typical oil resistant synthetic rubber that realizes one of the best balances between price, processing ability, and performance, and various grades are available according to the application.
